Christian Nodal

Christian Jesús González Nodal created a signature sound by blending mariachi and norteño music—a fusion he popularized as "mariacheño". Born January 11, 1999, in Sonora, Mexico, he launched his career at seventeen when Universal Music Latin signed him in 2016. His debut studio album Me Dejé Llevar (2017) became a commercial breakthrough, peaking at number seven on the AMPROFON Top 100 Mexico chart and generating multiple Top 20 hits including "Adiós Amor" and "Te Fallé," both of which reached number one on the Monitor Latino General Mexican Songs chart. His second album Ahora (2019) scored three top-ten singles: "No Te Contaron Mal," "Nada Nuevo," and "De Los Besos Que Te Di". In 2021, "Botella Tras Botella"—a collaboration with rapper Gera MX—shattered industry boundaries by becoming the first regional Mexican song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 60 and cementing itself as his most-streamed Spotify track as of 2023. After switching to Sony Music Mexico in February 2022 following a legal dispute with Universal, Nodal released the extended play Forajido, which peaked at number 28 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and spawned the number-one Billboard Mexico Songs hit "Ya No Somos Ni Seremos". His follow-up EP Forajido 2 (May 2023) continued his momentum with top-ten singles "Quédate" and "Un Cumbión Dolido". Nodal's awards cabinet includes six Latin Grammy Awards, a Lo Nuestro Award, two Billboard Latin Music Awards, and a Latin American Music Award.
