Christopher Vélez is a composer and member of CNCO, a Latin American boy band formed in Miami, Florida. The group originally consisted of Richard Camacho, Erick Brian Colón, Vélez, and Zabdiel De Jesús, with Joel Pimentel as a member until May 2021. CNCO won a five-year recording contract with Sony Music Latin after becoming the winning competitors of La Banda's first season. Their debut album, Primera Cita, released on August 26, 2016, featured the mainstream hit "Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos)," which charted significantly after their earlier singles "Tan Fácil" and "Quisiera". The band toured with Ricky Martin and released a self-titled second studio album on April 6, 2018, with singles including "Hey DJ," "Mamita," and "Se Vuelve Loca". Both their first two albums debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. In 2019, they released the EP Que Quiénes Somos, containing "De Cero" and "Pegao" (featuring Manuel Turizo). Their 2021 album Déjà Vu was a visual cover album of Latin pop classics. On July 21, 2022, the band announced plans to disband and focus on solo careers, though they continued performing together. Their final studio album, XOXO, released in August 2022, featured "Toa La Noche," "La Equivocada," "Party, Humo & Alcohol," and "Pluton" (featuring Kenia Os). The last single, "La Ultima Canción," dropped in May 2023, and CNCO officially disbanded on November 17, 2023, in Puerto Rico. Vélez, born November 23, 1995, in Ecuador, is a male composer.
