Dean Puckett is an English filmmaker and screenwriter born 15 January 1982. He studied at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in Farnham from 2000–2003. Now a film lecturer at Falmouth University in Cornwall, Puckett has built a portfolio across short and feature formats. His debut feature *The Severed Sun* was developed through iFeatures with BBC Films, Creative England, and the BFI, and funded by Screen Cornwall with MPI Media handling sales. His shorts have won multiple awards and Vimeo Staff Picks. *The Sermon*, funded by Creative England and the BFI, played Sitges, BFI Flare, Overlook, Palm Springs Shorts Fest, and Hollyshorts. *Satan's Bite* won the Straight8 competition. *The Devil's Footprints* screened at FrightFest and Encounters Film Festival. He is currently developing *Seagull*, a vampire feature with BFI Network, Rebecca Wolff, and Early Day Films (producers of *Bait*), and *Rot*, a body-horror project with Qwerty Films (the production company behind *Severance*, *The Duchess*, and *Florence Foster Jenkins*).
