Akosua Dentaa Amoateng MBE is a British-Ghanaian entertainer whose career spans acting, presenting, producing, and social entrepreneurship. Born in 1983, she first gained recognition through roles on British television dramas EastEnders and Holby City before transitioning to hosting. On screen, she fronted The Dentaa Show and the reality music competition Mentor IV on British and Ghanaian networks. In 2005, she released a gospel album, Wu Ye Nyame, marking a brief singing career. Beyond entertainment, Dentaa is a formidable advocate for the Ghanaian diaspora in the UK. She founded the GUBA (Ghana UK Based Achievements) Awards in 2009, an annual ceremony honouring individuals and organisations advancing the Ghanaian community across both countries. Her entrepreneurial work earned her recognition as one of Africa's 100 Most Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs in 2017 and the Young Social Entrepreneur award in 2011. In 2013, she won the African Women in Europe (AWE) Award, with organisers calling her an "icon and role model to all African women living and working in Europe". Her service to the UK and Ghana was formally recognised in the 2016 Birthday Honours when she was appointed an MBE.
