Eve

Eve (Jihan Cooper) was born November 10, 1978, in the US. A rapper, singer, and actress, she emerged in 1999 with *Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady*, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and secured double-platinum RIAA certification—making her the third female rapper to achieve that peak. The album spawned "What Ya Want" and "Love Is Blind," while her features on the Roots' "You Got Me" and Missy Elliott's "Hot Boyz" both charted in the Hot 100 top 40, with the latter reaching #5.

Her momentum continued through *Scorpion* (2001) and *Eve-Olution* (2002). The lead single from *Scorpion*, "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" with Gwen Stefani, peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 and won her the inaugural Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. *Eve-Olution* followed with "Gangsta Lovin'" featuring Alicia Keys, also reaching #2.
