G.E.M.

Gloria Tang Sze-wing, professionally G.E.M. (Get Everybody Moving), is a Hong Kong singer, songwriter, and producer born August 16, 1991, in Shanghai. Raised in Hong Kong, she emerged as a leading figure in Chinese popular music and one of the most recognized artists in Greater China.

G.E.M. debuted under Hummingbird Music in 2008 with her self-titled Cantonese EP, which won gold for best newcomer at three major Hong Kong award ceremonies. Her debut studio album 18... (2009), recorded in Mandarin and Cantonese, ranked among the territory's ten best-selling records that year. Xposed (2012) became the best-selling Mandarin album of its year and made her the youngest nominee for Best Female Mandarin Singer at the Golden Melody Awards. Her 2014 appearance on I Am a Singer 2, a Chinese singing competition, catapulted her across Greater China.

Heartbeat (2015), her first Mandarin studio album, produced singles "Long Distance," "Goodbye," and "Away". "Light Years Away," released in 2016 as the Chinese theme for Passengers, became the most-viewed music video by a Chinese artist on YouTube. After 11 years with Hummingbird, she departed in March 2019 following a publicized contract dispute and launched her own company, G-Nation. City Zoo (2019) and Revelation (2022) both topped the Hong Kong album charts. Her I Am Gloria World Tour (2023–2025) grossed over $424 million across 86 shows, ranking among the top-five highest-grossing tours by a female artist ever.

G.E.M. has collected sixteen IFPI Hong Kong Sales Awards, twelve RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Awards, thirteen Metro Radio Mandarin Music Awards, one Golden Melody Award, and one MTV Europe Music Award. In 2016, she became the only Asian artist on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list, and in 2018, BBC ranked her number 34 on its 100 Women list of the world's most influential women.
