Grace VanderWaal won the eleventh season of America's Got Talent in September 2016 at age 12, performing original songs she'd posted on YouTube and at open mics near her home in Suffern, New York. That same year, Columbia Records and Syco Music released her debut EP Perfectly Imperfect, which became the best-selling EP of 2016. Her debut album Just the Beginning arrived in 2017, charting at number 22 on the U.S. Billboard 200, followed by the EP Letters Vol. 1 in 2019. VanderWaal conducted her first concert tour in 2017 supporting Just the Beginning, then toured with Imagine Dragons during their Evolve World Tour in mid-2018 and opened for Florence and the Machine in 2019 before launching her own Ur So Beautiful tour. She made her acting debut in 2020 in the Disney+ film Stargirl, reprising her role as Susan "Stargirl" Caraway in the 2022 sequel Hollywood Stargirl. Her second full-length album Childstar released in April 2025, followed by a Childstar Tour in May. As a singer-songwriter and actor born in 2004, VanderWaal performs live, records original material, and acts in film and television productions. A Capricorn by birth, she has been named to Billboard's 21 Under 21 list five times and is the youngest person ever included in Forbes' 30 Under 30 music list. Her awards include two Radio Disney Music Awards, a Teen Choice Award, the 2017 Billboard Women in Music Award, and the 2018 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Push Act.
