Innoss'B (Innocent Didace Balume) is a Congolese singer-songwriter, rapper, percussionist, dancer, and philanthropist known for creating AfroCongo, an eclectic fusion of Congolese rumba, indigenous folklore, and ndombolo. Born on 5 May 1997 in war-ravaged Goma, North Kivu, he grew up in the Birere area near Gisenyi, Rwanda, in a musical family. At six years old, he joined the family group Maisha Soul, which won the 2007 Revelation Award at the Goma Tourism Fair.
At age 13, Innoss'B won the Akon-sponsored 2010 Vodacom Superstar contest, which launched his solo career and led to a collaboration with Akon on the international single "Up and Away". He released his debut studio album, Innocent Vol.1, on 17 July 2013. His breakthrough came through high-profile collaborations: "Eloko" with Werrason in October 2015 and "Elengi" with Koffi Olomidé in October 2016, both hits in Kinshasa. On 29 June 2017, he released the maxi-single Plus, whose lead track "Ozo Beta Mabe" became an instant African hit with over 1 million YouTube views within five months.
