Jackie Evancho rose from YouTube covers to platinum status before her teens. Born April 9, 2000, in the US, the singer entered talent competitions starting in 2008 and released her debut album Prelude to a Dream. Her 2010 second-place finish on America's Got Talent season five, at age ten, brought her wide notice. The O Holy Night EP that same year made her the best-selling debut artist of 2010, the youngest top-10 debut artist in US history, and the youngest solo artist ever to go platinum in the US. Her 2011 full-length album Dream with Me debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200; she also became the youngest top-5 debut artist in UK history that year. Billboard ranked her the top Classical Albums Artist of 2011. Later releases include Songs from the Silver Screen (2012), Awakening (2014), Two Hearts (2017), The Debut (2019), and Carousel of Time (2022). In 2017, Evancho performed the US national anthem at Donald Trump's presidential inauguration and became the youngest person ever to perform a concert series at Café Carlyle. She appeared as an actor in Robert Redford's 2012 film The Company You Keep and competed on The Masked Singer in 2020. In 2024, she released an EP titled Solla. As a classical crossover singer, Evancho works across recorded albums and live concert tours, with each studio album supported by touring.
