After auditioning for Billy Elliot: The Musical, Clemente initially performed as the Tall/Posh Boy and understudy for Michael, with his second performance in that role on October 3, 2009—Kiril Kulish's final performance. On April 3, 2010, at age 12, Clemente became the ninth actor to play Billy, performing the role until July 3, 2011.
