Pauline Curuenavuli, known professionally as Paulini, is a Fijian-Australian singer, songwriter and musical theatre actress born 15 October 1982. Relocated to Sydney at age four, she gained recognition as a fourth-place finalist on Australian Idol's first season in 2003. Her debut studio album One Determined Heart (2004) debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart and earned platinum certification; the lead single "Angel Eyes" topped the ARIA Singles Chart for three consecutive weeks and secured her two ARIA No. 1 Chart Awards. Her second album Superwoman (2006) included the top-thirty single "Rough Day" and generated nominations at the Australia/New Zealand Urban Music Awards. That same year, Paulini became a member of the Australian girl group Young Divas, which released two top-ten albums—Young Divas (2006) and New Attitude (2007)—and achieved three top-fifteen singles, notably "This Time I Know It's for Real". After parting ways with Young Divas and ending her Sony BMG contract in 2008, she pursued songwriting through a publishing deal with Albert Music, writing for artists across Europe, South Africa and the Philippines. She was featured on Ronan Keating's 2010 single "Believe Again" and released her third and fourth studio albums—Come Alive and Merry Christmas—both in 2015 through Ambition and Decca Records Australia; Come Alive debuted at number 25 on the ARIA Albums Chart. In 2017, Paulini made her musical theatre debut in the Australian production of The Bodyguard, playing Rachel Marron, a role originally performed by Whitney Houston in the 1992 film.
