Sam Peter Jackson is a British screenwriter and actor born on 17 March 1978. He rose to prominence as a playwright when Public Property opened at London's Trafalgar Studios in 2009, starring Nigel Harman, Robert Daws and Steven Webb, and was nominated for a 2010 WhatsOnStage Theatregoers' Choice Award as Best New Comedy. The play was published by Oberon Books and established Jackson as a distinctive comedic voice.
As a filmmaker, he has written and directed six short films that have won awards and screened globally at BAFTA, the BFI and international festivals. His short film The Bathroom starred double Laurence Olivier Award-winning actress Janie Dee and featured music by Grammy Award-winning composer David Arnold. His work Clothes & Blow screened at the 43rd Frameline Festival in San Francisco, was nominated for the 2018 Iris Prize Best British Short and won Best Comedy at the 2019 Beeston Film Festival.
