Siti Nurhaliza

Siti Nurhaliza binti Tarudin was born on 11 January 1979 in Malaysia. A singer, songwriter, and actress, she is regarded as one of the most influential artists in the Malay world, earning the title "Voice of Asia". She has recorded in Malay, English, Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese, and Tamil.

Siti debuted at age 16 after winning Bintang HMI, a local singing competition, in 1995. Her debut single "Jerat Percintaan" won the 11th Anugerah Juara Lagu and Best Performance and Best Ballad awards. Her self-titled debut album (1996) sold over 800,000 copies in Malaysia, while her 1997 sophomore album exceeded 400,000 copies domestically and 500,000 in Indonesia, earning a 6× Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia.
