Takanori Nishikawa is a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, voice actor, radio personality, and businessman. Born September 19, 1970, in Japan, he spent three years as vocalist of the visual kei rock band Luis-Mary before debuting as T.M.Revolution—a stage name standing for "Takanori Makes Revolution"—with the single "Dokusai (Monopolize)" in May 1996.
His third single, "Heart of Sword (Yoake Mae)," became the third ending theme for Rurouni Kenshin and significantly expanded his fanbase. Nishikawa has since become synonymous with anime and video game soundtracks, contributing six songs across the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED franchise (three per installment) and providing ending themes for Bleach: Hell Verse and opening/ending sequences for numerous other properties. His work has also been licensed by Capcom's Sengoku Basara video game series and media franchise.
In 2005, Nishikawa formed the rock band Abingdon Boys School, expanding his creative scope beyond solo work. As a Life Path 9, he embodies the humanitarian and transformative energy that defines his stage name and collaborative projects. T.M.Revolution was the first artist signed to Tofu Records (a Sony Music Japan-affiliated label promoting Japanese artists in North America), which released three of his studio albums: coordinate (2003), Seventh Heaven (2004), and vertical infinity (2005). Nishikawa spent three years as vocalist of the visual kei rock band Luis-Mary before launching his T.M.Revolution solo project. During his Luis-Mary tenure, he built the foundation for his later focus on songwriting and production, though most of his TMR compositions would later be written by lyricist Akio Inoue and arranged by producer Daisuke Asakura.
