Stephen Merchant

Stephen Merchant co-wrote and co-directed The Office (2001–2003), the British comedy series that redefined mockumentary television. With Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington, he hosted The Ricky Gervais Show across radio, podcast, audiobook, and television, earning a bronze Sony Award for the radio iteration. He then co-created Extras (2005–2007) and Life's Too Short (2011–2013) alongside Gervais, establishing himself as a writer-director-performer hybrid.
