Tom DeLonge is an American rock musician and entrepreneur born December 13, 1975. He co-founded Blink-182 in high school with bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Scott Raynor, signing their debut album Cheshire Cat (1995) to a local label. Travis Barker replaced Raynor in 1998, and the band's third release, Enema of the State (1999), became a watershed moment—selling over 15 million copies worldwide and going quadruple-platinum in the US. Their fourth album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001), gave them their first No. 1 chart position.
DeLonge and Barker explored post-hardcore with the side project Box Car Racer (2002) before that dissolved, and the band's self-titled fifth album (2003) signaled a tonal shift. Internal tension led DeLonge to spearhead a breakup in 2005, during which he formed Angels & Airwaves—an "art project" spanning multiple media that has released five albums. Blink-182 reunited in 2009; DeLonge departed again in 2015 and returned once more in 2022.
Beyond music, DeLonge founded Macbeth Footwear (vegan and organic clothing), Modlife (artist monetization tech), and To The Stars (fringe-science exploration). He produced and scored the sci-fi film Love (2011) and wrote the children's book The Lonely Astronaut on Christmas Eve (2013).
