Justin Simms is a Newfoundland and Labrador filmmaker and screenwriter born in Labrador City in 1973. He co-founded Newfound Films and is now based in St. John's.
His directorial breakthrough came with Down to the Dirt, an adaptation of Joel Hynes's novel that Simms directed and co-wrote; it won best Atlantic feature and best screenplay at the Atlantic Film Festival.
