She rose to prominence as a member of Lip's, a three-person idol group formed in 1990 after the members won a 1989 UCC Can Coffee "Miss Contest Grand Prix". Lip's consisted of Takako Katō, Yoshimura, and Kyoko Yamamoto, and signed to CBS Sony. The group's debut single, "Ai no Maryoku" (Magical Power of Love), released March 21, 1990, peaked at number 43 on the Oricon Singles Chart. A second single, "Splendid Love", followed on June 1, 1990, reaching number 65. Both tracks were promotional songs for UCC Can Coffee commercials. Lip's first album, Kore, Umaidjan (This is Good), dropped September 21, 1990, peaking at number 79 on the Oricon Albums Chart. In November 1990, the group teamed with idol trio Rakutenshi and Rumi Shishido to form Nanatsuboshi (Seven Stars), releasing a single and holiday album. Later work included "Aoi Sangoshō (Blue Lagoon Dance Mix)", a cover of Seiko Matsuda's 1980 track used for Return to the Blue Lagoon Japan promotions, and final single "Isogaba Maware!" (Slow and Steady Wins the Race!) in July 1992, used as the theme for Wowow's TV show Carmel. Lip's disbanded in 1993, and Yoshimura moved into acting, modelling, and music careers.
